Okay i was just diagnosed with HPV about 3 months ago and i am 20 weeks pregnant. i have the "low risk" strain, I have no signs of genital warts on me, but can not tell if they would be hidden on my cervix. Would doctors be able to tell me if they are and if so can i get them treated before i go into labor? I don't want a C-section. Has anyone gone through with HPV and labor??

People go through it all the time. Just discuss it with your OB.

I have HPV...and have only had abnormal cells in my cervix, that they had to get rid of. I am 33 weeks preggers, and my doctor has said nothing about this affecting me. I have never and still have not had an warts or anything besides abnormal cells. They do say that during pregnancy your immune system is down...so a lot of women break out even though they never have before!!!

I know you will be fine though!!! Dont stress...that can make it worse for you!!!

yes they'll definitely make sure you can deliver normally WORST case scenario is a c-section but i highly doubt you'll need one. i found out while i was pregnant that i had HPV and it was the one and only time that i broke out with the warts (i was mortified) but with treatment in the first trimester to remove the outside warts they NEVER came back and i delivered normally so if you dont have visible warts chances are your an acceptable canidate for normal delivery so dont worry. your dr should definitely be answering this question but from my experience you should be ok.

I had it and my doctor said that the chance that it could get passed on to baby is so slim that there is no need to do a c-section. 2 babies later I am clear of it and my girls are absolutely fine. Don't worry and if you have something the doctor will let you know if they can see or feel anything. If you do get something that's pops up before baby comes, I think they can remove it. Good luck and congrats on baby!!!

This is something to ask your doctor.

I can't speak for HPV, but I have herpes. The doctors monitered me closely near my due date and when the time came and I had no signs of an outbreak, we went with a vaginal delivery and everything was fine. And then again with my second child, vaginal delivery and no problems.
