It seems social agenda's from the christian camps have driven the process since Reagan's era. McCain and Giuliani are virtually Republican moderates who revolt from the fundamentalist right. The christian fundamentalist aren't backing any other candidate because they don't think anyone in the mix can win. Social agenda's lithmus testing does not a good President make. What say you?

Answering your initial question...I hope so. I truly look forward to the debates, but was sadly disappointed with the last set. It was frustrating, watching Bush make the same, moronic statements when Kerry was trying to discuss real issues. Although he clarified and answered the accusation of being a turncoat in the first debate, Bush kept going back to it everytime he thought he might be losing ground. I am basically non-partisan, and went into the debates with an open mind, but it didn't take long to see that Bush was out of his depth. Say what you want about Kerry, but he unanimously won ALL debates. I'm hoping that the 2008 installments will be enlightening, entertaining and educational.

Thanks for the question...

Well, first of all where did he say the Christians are going anywhere, just that they aren't backing a candidate. And 75% of WHAT? LMAO!

But to answer the question, is the Presidential Candidates banter ever exciting or stimulating? Why would that change now?

The fundies want a white biblebot who is against Roe v Wade only. They don't have one, so yes the debate will be about real issues and not christian reconstructionism.
