Reading fan here but i have heard a lot of things about Arsenal! But in my opinion nationality should have nothing to with team selection. It's Perfomance that counts right? Even though it's an English team with French players, arent the fans English?
United and Spurs fan plz dont jump down my throat, i'm not a gooner, i like them but my loyalty lies with Reading.

It shouldn't really have anything to do with team selection, but this is the english premier league and teams like the arsenal have got hardly any english players. In most arsenal games they don't have a single english player in the starting XI. Teams like us (spurs) have, with no injuries, have about 5, sometimes more english players in the starting XI. The English Premier League just needs to stay a bit more english!

I believe that a team should play it's best players, regardless of nationality or whatever. He can be born across the street from the stadium or from halfway across the world, but I think it shouldn't have to matter.

In fact, that's how the world is now. Major corporations are employing the best talents from around the world. It's not where you're from, it's what you can do. It's not just football that has an influx of foreign talent.

You are right! I am sick and tired of all these sissies whining... There are countless clubs and leagues for english youngsters to play. In this competitive world, if they are that good - they will get noticed. If they do have enough talent they will end up in a major club.

If you want to play for a major powerhouse like Arsenal you need to be one of the best in the world. Football is played for fans and they want to see the best of the best.

They need to stop whining and get their lazy bum to the pitch and start doing drills. Maybe then they can play for Arsenal.... or wherever they want to play...

Disagree with previous answerer. The club plays 4 itself nt 4 the country. So if it cant find any good eng talent it has to look 4 other nationalities.

ok, when you are an ENGLISH club that is situated at the CAPITAL of ENGLAND (LONDON), don't you have a GENUINE vision of developing ENGLISH talents?!

when your 1st team doesn't have an ENGLISH player on its list, the subtle message is that ENGLISH players are crap and so to hell with them.

kinda pathetic and myopic if you can't spot or develop ENGLISH talent because i am sure, there are plenty of kids waiting for their chance.

it's a great injustice to ENGLISH players because they are being denied the opportunity from realising their full potentials by leaving them out of the line up.

what truly a SORRY state of football in north london.

So, i think of New Zealand is the main under rated attempt cricket team interior the worldwide or i think of South Africa is the main effectual attempt cricket team interior the worldwide.

Talent, yes. Nationality, no. That would be almost prejudice. So yea, I agree with you.
