I know of 3 experiments in outer space that checked out Einstein's theories.
(1) Einstein predicted that space-time was warped by the amount of matter anywhere in space and this was proved in two ways. (a) light from the farthest galaxies were bent by galaxies that they passed on its way towards us and what we saw (called lensing ie light being bent) were multiple images of the one galaxy. This same theory was proved by an English astronomer during a totla eclipse of the sun when the apparent position of a known star was bent to another spot as light from it passed the sun.

(2) Einstein also predicted that the orbits of the planets should not lie on the same path on each orbit around the sun, but that the orbit should show precession on each pass, and very careful observation of Mercury's orbit showed that this is exactly what is taking place.
