Nooooooo not stupid at all.

If you read some say for example, by Socrates, you will find it relates to everyday subjects.

It's not all about God!

Alain de Botton is a popular and modern day philosopher who has released best sellers and has had successful TV programmes. Its also very humerous!!

Please have a look at the following link to his site to see what i mean!

for a long time philosophy and religion were together. Young people today don't realize this, i didn't know till my 3rd yr of BA in philosophy. There's the new age science and no god people. There are some more traditional philosophers. And religious studies courses are in the philosophy department.

Seperately:
I hate ethics and govt but it's all i talk about. Religion too. I don't care about religion much anymore. Ethics, i decided that i do have ethical theory and believe in the thing but am just wierd. Govt i still rant on about, maybe cause i don't know.

Let me put it this way - Philosophy is for people who can understand or who at least are willing to think on things on a level higher than the obvious/mundane!! It's a result of people wanting to know more that what seems obvious and there's nothing wrong with or stupid about that.

Having said that... I need not say which category you fall into. Forgive me if this offends you! but just because you do not "get"/"understand" something doesn't give you the right to call it stupid.

Well if you hang out on barstools, you'll know nothing but barstool philosophers. Search "barstool philosphophy" and see what you get. Yeah, it WAS invented by drunkards.

Now REAL philosophy is something different - and some DO talk about God and SAY SO.

Don't really know what you're going on about, or why.

Any systemmatic sort of inquiry into the "big questions" will seem stupid if you don't care about the big questions or you think you've already answered them.

philosophy need not be really spiritual - it is a theory venturing to find out the real truth of liberation of soul

I've found that mostly stupid people think philosophy is stupid.

Which makes alot of sense when you think about it.
