I saw something on TV the other day, but I thought the South Wales mining industry was all but decimated following the '84 strike?

Does anyone know how they manage to seperate the edible material from the rock and dirt? It must be well difficult, isnt it.

Of course you can't mine them you foolish person! They are very shy sea creatures who must be teased out of rocky hollows and sand burrows by experienced noodlers who then dry them in the sun.

r m - I find they toughen up if they bite - they're much more tender if you are gentle with them.

Well if you believe everything on the telly they must be.
I don't think they separate the dirt and rock from it that's the nutritional value in the noodle

AdrianC, you don't tease them, I heard you do it like the guys that go "cat fisting" in the states. you stick your hand blindly in a hole and wait for them to bite, then you pull them out of the rock and into the basket. UUMMMM good noodles.

Yes, they mine noodles, when those notoriously lazy Welshmen can be bothered getting off their backsides.
