No we are not! There are several old wives tales about Indian summer that we all grew up with but my favorite is 'The Gods were bored and decided to come to earth to play. When their feet touched the ground it was much too cold for them. So extending their powers, warmed the earth for several days so that they could wander the lands in comfort. This too made it easier for the people, of the time, to take in the last of the years harvest before it froze!'
Now this is just one of the many stories told to me as a child, but it was wonderful! We don't get angry because of the name 'Indian Summer'. It should be a complement to all Indians!
