I watch Judge Judy every now and then. To me, Judge Judy isn't really entertaining because I mean... come on, let's face it. Everythings going to go her way on the show because she has the protection of a big baliff and security and a huge bench in front of her. Anyway, the main entertainment I get from watching is when her own baliff gets irritated with her. Usually, the court shows, the baliff is a big suck up to the judge and kisses the judge's butt and agrees with everything the judge says, but Byrd is hilarious if you ask me. If Judge Judy asks him to go get something, he always sighs and makes a face like 'why don't you go get it yourself?'. When Judge Judy asks Byrd a question, chances are Byrd would agree with her like all the other baliffs do. A lot of times, Byrd will tell Judge Judy she is wrong and sometimes even laugh and make fun of her for not knowing about stuff, like the internet. One time, Judge Judy was like "does that sound stupid to you, Byrd." He goes, "I guess!"

Frankly, I think Judge Judy annoys the hell out of Byrd judging from his expressions and behavior on the show.

The show's primary goal is entertainment. If he appears irritated, it's all an act. Byrd adds something unique and comical to the show.

I dont know how Byrd keeps his job and why Judge Judy keeps him around.Some of the things he does she would not stand for from other people in her courtroom.He chews gum,has his hands in his pockets,leans against the desk,plays crossword puzzles,if he has to walk too many times all the way over to get papers or pictures he is overworked and when he is holding the gate open to let the defendants and plaintiffs leave he leaves very little room for them to get by him,especially the females.I like Judge Judy and the show but why they renew Byrds contract or why he wants to stay on the show I dont get.There must be a lot of bailiffs available who would appreciate that job and be happy with the money?

My husband constantlt makes fun of me for watching it!! I think she is really smart and so funny. Sometimes I think I am a lillte crazy for being such a "loyal fan" but you dont get those kinds of ratings or that many years on television if people dont like you. She is a millionaire from that show!! I swear the way she tricks people into telling the truth is so sly sometimes, I just love it. Don't worry, you are not the only one who loves her! I am a regular mom & pre-school teacher with a "regular" life and I loook forward to getting home after work every day to watch. Besides, our husbands are probably secretly watching Oprah when we arent around!!~Also. you should go on Netflix and rent the new dvd "justice served" It has some ultra-funny cases, but the best part are the 2 documentary (60-minutes tv show) specials of when she was back in an actual family court. It is really an interesting look into her real life, education and family and it really shows the real human side of her. I liked it a lot.

Judge Judy annoys me, so I wouldn't be surprised if she annoys Byrd - he has to put put up with her a lot more often than I do! Most of those judge shows annoy me. I realize judges are supposed to judge people, but they're also supposed to be be impartial and professional, but nearly all the ones on TV are rude, interrupting and don't give the plaintiffs and defendants a chance. Some of them even make fun of the people, especially Judge Greg Mathis. He's the worst. I also realize these shows are supposed to be entertaining, but some of these judges are making it a circus and I don't think they're serving justice.

cmm_home (write up above) is right on with many of her comments...........judge judy is on an ego trip as is greg Mathis........these 2 characters have more emotional problems than many of the litigants and they use the litigants to mock and degrade and really they should be anything BUT judges because they use their positions to build self at the expense of others....very poor examples
