Patient, 2003 Malibu with a 6 cyl fuel injected MPIF and 2nd gen OBD-II.

Symtoms: When the car sits and one tries to start it, it labors to fire for about 3 sec. then it stalls out. Attempting to restart it goes nowhere. You can get it to fire squirting starter fluid into the throat of the throttle body. So long as you keep giving it burst it stay running. Once you stop giving it burst it stalls out. It will not even labor to start again until it sits for about 7 to 12 min. All it will do is turn over but never attempt to fire. And, yes, it has a brand new fuel filter. Chevy docs, tell me what it is?

Hey, I'm a chevy doc.Your lucky I usually charge for this stuff!Obviously your not getting fuel! Possible fuel pressure regulator,
or fuel pump. Most likely the regulator as fuel pressure is bleeding down after it sits.Have a technician check it out for you, as the problem will only get worse.Good luck

you are able to desire to describe what happens while it dies. devoid of that, i won't manage to tell what's inflicting the priority. You did not point out in case you replaced the battery or alternator. in case you have and your battery keeps dying, meaning something is drawing potential while the vehicle is off and putting a ton of undue rigidity on the battery. Use an o.e.m volt meter and ampmeter to verify what's happening. sturdy success.
