Ok I have a 98 chevy 1-ton with the 6.5 diesel. I know, I know. I rather like it. I have 2 codes. They are; 1. boost pressure low or inadiquate; 2. coolant temp low (temp gauge shows 170 degrees all the time). I live in phoenix low coolant temp is never something we have to worry about here. runs fine no loss of "power". I know these turbos are notorious for slobber could this be a reason behind the first code? A gunked up pressure gauge? oh yeah 117k on odometer.

The coolant sensor is most likely bad. It is sending the wrong reading to your gauge.

When it comes to the turbo issue, it very well could be a wastegate problem. Unless you know what you are doing with the turbo, you might want to take it to a shop to have that correctly diagnosed and serviced.

Coolant Tempature sensor is separate from the temp guage. They do go bad. It is ususally mounted in or near the thermostat housing.
As for the boost pressure being too low, you may have a waste gate opperation problem. Have it checked.
