The reason for the animal kingdom to have the male more "pretty" is because an aniamls number 1 priority is to mate. And when the female has the babies, she needs to be able to hide herself and her young. The male animal is stronger, has nothing to really "protect" so he can be as bright as he wants.
Humans along time ago used to be the same way, and in some culturs they still are (the woman is more covered up..) But since women, over the years, have wanted to attact mates, we have made ourself the colorful ones, and it just stuck. But, when we have kids, ever notice how we start to dress frumby, less "flamboyant" and less colorful? (not because we feel like deflated cows or anything) but to keep a low profile, so that we don't attaract a predator...

You're right. In the animal world the males are generally the more beautiful specimens. In the human world, I think we consider women more beautiful and the men are handsome. There has to be something to differentiate us from animals.

speaking about animals, yeah, in many species the male is the most beautiful, Lion is not a good example, yes it si very.. masculine, and uhm... powerful, but... they are useless!!! have you seen what they do? they sleep all day, they roar once or twice a day, and they feed from what the female lion hunts... and they even attack female lions for that food.......... now, speaking about humans........ the female is more beatiful.

I find the human form to be very beautiful, be it male or female.
With animals, generally the male is more beautiful so he can catch the females attention...she needs to be plain in order to protect her young, such as birds nesting.

Women are beautiful in my eyes-Aesthetically,men do nothing for me, I'm afraid.
In Aberdeen or some parts of Wales and Warwickshire, then I am sure that female sheep are regarded as the better looking of the species.

Very true but did you also notice that the females still take care of the family and get most of the food.
