Bast is an Egyptian Goddess. She is ordinarily depicted as a human female figure with the head of a lioness, or domestic cat. She is a great protector, Patron of Mothers, and Cats. She has both historical solar (early), and lunar (later) associations. She embodies feminine power at its most focused and ferocious. She is a figure at once, both tender and serene. Yet, below her feline, languid grace is a warrior both cunning and deserving of respect.
