i have accidetly deleted an inportant file on my usb pendrive, the file has subfolders with documents within the subfolders.
how can i recover them, is there a free utility that will actually work

i think of its becoz of the difficulty with partition table difficulty. maximum probable the partition tables r corrupt. attempt doing the disk checking. attempt using another antivirus like avg or something else coz AVAST 5 now and back dont discover viruses.(Been using avast for 3 yrs & using avg in my computer for few months) in the different case u can use avast 4.8 professional version. Dont use any sort of flash protection,etc, they suck!
