Hi all, i'm 38 and a 1/2 weeks pregnant and totally fed up now, i have been told i could go into labour anytime now. I have been drinking raspberry leaf tea for a couple of weeks, and no one to have sex with, so any other ideas would be great.

when i was pregnant i was told to eat lots of fresh pineapple and drink raspberry leaf tea. to be honest i wouldnt recommend eating too much pineapple as it has put me off for life but the raspberry leaf tea is very nice. i went into labour a week early, don't know if this helped me but it could have! I have also been told that eating a hot curry can bring on labour! hope this helps and good luck x

Masturbation is a good natural way to trigger muscle spasms "down there" - it is reccommended you try that as an entirely natural way.

Food which induces wind and/or diahorrea is also a way, such as very spicy food or a lot of fruit, also triggering muscle spasms.

Another way is to go for a bumpy drive!! That brought on my firend's labor - they went for a drive on a road full of potholes in the country and ended up turning round and going straight to hospital, she had her baby 4 hours later!!

Although, technically, you should do nothing. The longer your baby is in there, the safer and better! A normal pregnancy should last 40 weeks - so hold on there if you can, if not, and I know how you feel, - Good luck!! lol

;-)

My wife tried sex (in the maternity suite - with me obviously), hot curries, warm baths, walking around, olive oil, and many other remedies to bring the labour on - none worked for either of our pregnancies. What did work in each case was just relaxing and not worrying anymore about trying - 1st baby 10 days late, second 3 days late. But it's reaslly hard to relax I know.

There are those people who believe that a good round of diarrhea can bring on labor. I had it for 1 month while pregnant, and my father (he is an OB) told me that I only had to worry about it as the possibility of bringing on labor. But many woman also GET diarrhea right before labor, as it is the body's way to get rid of the stool before you are constipated FOREVER afterwards.

Spicy food is supposed to trigger as well as long walks. Of course, your baby is the best judge of when to come out. In Hong Kong, foot massages are also thought to trigger labor.

Incidentally, although you are uncomfortable now, it is much easier to have the baby INSIDE your body, instead of out - and you are infinitely more comfortable NOW than labor and post partum. So, at least enjoy the peace and quiet, and do something that you really really want to do. You may go beyond 40 weeks, and it is actually a secret blessing in disguise - yes, you are uncomfortable, but you get one more selfish week. good luck.

Just walking.
Unfortunately, the normal gestation time for a first baby is closer to 41 weeks.
Just lots of walking.
Walking in the park.
Walking at the mall.
Walking at the grocery store.
Lots of walking.
Hang in there. Baby will be here soon enough. Get rest when you're not walking.

Sex is the best way to bring on labour, but I've heard drinking caster oil does the trick too. Yukk! good luck and congrats on the little one x

I went overdue by two weeks on my 4th child, i drank loads of raspberry leaf tea. I don't think it worked at all, it just relaxes your muscles, your baby will come when its ready, all these remedys are just old wives tales. Sorry!!
