Because, no matter if you are gay, straight or bi-sexual, love is love. We all need companionship. We need company. We all need someone to grow old with. This is human nature. Part and parcel of living. C'est la vie. as they say!

It's not normal if you don't have partner or companionship in life. Just imagine, you are all alone at night,no one to talk to and when you wake up in the middle of the night, you feel so lonely or so alone and what if something happen to you?(health problem) at least, there's that someone to watch, share, love, argue, and foremost a soul connection. I can't leave alone,no man is an island. Eventhough you have friends in daytime or nightime, they are just temporary out there with you, then it's you again. So start searching for one or you will miss the action in life. Good luck!

The goal for life partner is expected by society and the want for one is just put in our brains at birth.
Also, if you didn't want a life partner, then why would you date as there's no goal for it?

Some do and some don't. I have had several "life" partners and its nice but I really like it when I'm alone too.

The better question would be, why would you want to be alone? I can't imagine raising my kids alone and not having someone to share life with. I need him for support and he needs me. It's a great life.

Who said that. People have life partners, but they certainly don't need one.

because of the fear our spread of aids, epidemic, and who's too say that you still wont become infected with the devil disease as we call it here in California. its best to have a lifetime partner some one who knows your inns outs and knows how too push your buttons in bed. one partner whom you can cherish hold and share life with. liefs troubles threw thick thinn. the, one nights stands are, here we are the next day you dont even know who they are if you drag them home drunk after partying. stick too one partner.

normal human behavior includes long term attachment of sexual partners, as is required by need to support children during the long time it takes them to become totally independent.
so humans are biologically conditioned to form attachments for many years.

We don't *need* one. All these arguments are good points why many people want one, even most, but it's not something everyone wants and needs. If you're happy by yourself then don't let society talk you into a relationship you don't want.
