An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Cutting your toenails square and straight across is the best way to prevent them. Be sure you have enough room in your shoes. If it is swollen, red, or has pus coming out you need to see a doctor soon. Below is a good page for you to read about it.

Depends how bad it is. If it's just at the level of annoying, check the foot care section of your drug store for an ingrown toenail file. Follow the package instructions, and that should free it up.

If it's swollen, very red, or very painful, it may be infected, in which case, you really need to go to a doctor and have it checked out. They can fix it up pretty quick. Good luck!

I'm a nurse. You really should see a doctor to determine if you will Need antibiotics once removed. Any form of infection can become septic(in your bloodstream) and turn fatal. I know it seems like a small thing but it can turn into something very serious. See a doctor your primary is able to take care of this for you.

Wear only comfortable wide shoes. When you cut your nails put your feet in warm water 10 minutes. Then cut the nail in a straight line not curved. You can also file the upper side of the nail a little to make it weaker and not too harsh. If it hurts use an antiseptic in warm water and soak your feet in it.

the only way is to go to get it fixed at a foot doctor. I had one too and actually me waiting was more painful then getting it fixed I think the only painful thing about getting it fixed is when they stick the needle in your toe to make it numb, after that all you see is blood and once its done it feels alot better.
