It mostly starts from 7 O Clock in the evening IST as this is 8:30 AM EST(Eastern Standers Time). and goes till 6 O clock in the morning or till late 10'O clock AM (IST) if it is a Technical BPO as people in US call up to helpdesk when they reach home after a days work.
Now most BPO's function on the rotation basis. It there are more employees, they will have shifts logging in at each hour so that in peak hours of business in US, they have most of the representetive logged in and taking calls and making calls.
As you reach towards morning teams start logging out at each hour and it closes by the morning in India.
The shifts starting around 2 AM are called GraveYard Shifts.
