i need the information about the yahoo databse and how they are managed in hard disk.... that is if it is saved as file or datas in database

As far as I read and now recall the yahoo mail service is loosly based on BSD operating system and they run Qmail as their MTA. I guess as Qmail uses mail directories (i.e. disk based files for each mail message storage), so yahoo mail for storing messages be using files only.

But they must be using some database for maintaining user accounts. Should not be oracle, maybe something LDAP based. Maybe someone from yahoo can better comment.

Do they store these in a Database or a Mail server manages its data in its own files?

As far as i know it's oracle.
But my IT faculty said it is mysql.
Also databases of Google and Sisco are mysql ,too.
