does anyone know of any free software that i could download so i can get a reminder on my computer when ever i start up? like for birthdays, anniversarys work dates ect?

Rainlender. You can set up a to-do list, and an events list. The basic version doesn't have time so you can't set up meetings but for birthdays it works well. I have 2 months events shown on my computer - 2 calendar months with days highlighted when there's an event. And on the event day it puts a wopping big button in the middle of my screen showing the event and even if I click on it, it will return a while later, until I delete the event.

Try Outlook or Outlook Express. this never fails and it should already be on your computer.
Anything you enter on the calendar has the option for reminders with alarm.

there is funny clocks on there ( I use that...it's free) that will remind you of anything you want. I have also used it as a alarm clock.
but there are several programs you can choose from.

You can do it yourself in tasks if you are on Outlook (not sure about outlook express)
