We are thinking of purchasing a humidifier, and would appreciate opinions on which type is better overall. Warm mist, or cool mist. Thanks for any feedback.....

The advice we got in a store was this: If you're sick and looking to increase humidity a lot, use warm mist. For everyday humidifying, use cool mist. We use cool mist and it's fine. Cleaning the unit is inconvenient (but necessary), but it works and we don't get unwanted condensation on surfaces.

Doctors go back and forth with which one to use. They are on cool mist right now! LOL If you want to use medications in the humidifier, like the vapor mist stuff you use that in the warm mist humidifier. Good Luck! =0)

Since cold air actually can't hold alot of wator vapor and distribute it thoughout the home. A warm mist humidifier would do best!

Either of them are fine, they only serve the purpose of putting moisture in the air, so it's really a matter of what feels better to you. Remember to clean them THOROUGHLY after each use, as bacteria will easily build up causing problems and viruses.

It depends entirely on where you live.
