I did! God had a hand in it (nature, my DNA, I believe certain things are just born in you). Nurture is the other half: my parents played a HUGE part in shaping who I became (I hate to admit that in many ways I'm like my mother! Neurotic control freak!) My siblings (younger brothers, older sister) influenced me in many ways. I think being the middle child affected me. I never felt special enough so I had to knock myself out to get attention. I've read that it's very common for the middle child to be fiercely competitive, an over-achiever, type A personality. I got straight A's in school & always knocked myself out to be the best at everything but still didn't feel good enough. Peers had an effect. Being shy, smart & too poor to wear designer clothes in the snobbish suburb where we lived (the kiss of death in junior high when everyone wants to "fit in" & will torture anyone who "stands out"), I naturally got picked on in early adolescence which was brutal & took a chainsaw to my self esteem. All the compliments & men hitting on me & even becoming a model years later couldn't convince this ugly duckling that she'd become a swan. The pain of rejection takes a toll. But hey, angst is a valuable commodity for a poet/artist so I should thank those ******* for the inspiration! Romantic relationship(wreck)s affected me as well. Another warehouse of ideas for poems, songs, art! Jobs affected me in various ways. My current line of work (which I hate) has helped to toughen me up a lot. Close friends have made an impact & helped me believe in myself & make changes (like buying a house in a new town etc). But overall, I believe I am the author of my fate. I used to think that I couldn't help the way I was (negative, low self-esteem etc) and that I was helpless to deal with events around me. Then I finally started to realize that I am in control. You can't change the past but you can change how it affects you. You can't control the world but you can control your reactions to things. You can choose to be happy & work at it. That's what I'm doing now. It's up to me. Now I am proud to stand out rather than fit in. Now I realize that being unique is a gift not a curse.

My grandparents. They were always there for me for everything and through everything,My grandpa had his own business and worked side jobs also.He took me with him on the weekends to help him and he made me work very hard.Everybody that met him really loved him allot. He had a personality that was out of this world,he showed me how to talk and treat people and how to be a hard worker and be proud to earn what you get in life.My grandma taught me how to save money and have time for the important things in life like spending time with friends, family and myself. While still getting the things done around the house.Morals and values were installed in me from the day I was born. They took care of me,done and taught me so much and now I have the chance to return the favor. My grandpa passed 3 yrs. ago at age 90 and Grandma is 92 now and I take care of her and spend as much time with her that I possibly can.

My family, the teachers I've gone through, my personal experiences in life, other people's experience in life, my knowledge of history, geography, my religious beliefs, my socialization (types of movies I've watched, types of things EXPECTED of me by family, society, etc), my work experience, people I've come into contact with, my travels, my level of knowledge... I think that in a nutshell, that these are the things that makey everyone the way they are. And not all of the above are positive but i've used them to make me a better person. For example - my family have taught me how NOT to be :)
very good question.

My parents! They gave me everything I needed and wanted to become what I am now! They did everything they could! They spent their money to educate me! They raised me in a healthy environment and they never put their personal problems on me!
They never "imprisoned" me in the house and I had all the freedom I should!
Now I am 27 and have a complete personality and I step heavily on my feet!!

Questions and Answers. Hopes and Beliefs. Policies of another some came from Mother and Father. most came from those over them, and that is the why of who I am.
