Why do I believe that conservatives only care about money and anything that gets in the way of making money?

I try to keep an open mind, but I see a more mean-spirited, greedy, selfish attitude from the right. The left has tons of problems, but I know they care more about humanity, civil rights, the environment (the whole planet), education, and progressing as a nation and a world. They don't seem as preoccupied with money (with some noteable exceptions I'm sure).

Renee: Even the way you state it it comes off as less caring. Someone who is willing to share what she has is more generous than someone who doesn't. And the Liberals have a better history of programs to help people help themselves than do the conservatives.

Para Legal: Reality is the last thing you should talk about. Why would any Liberal American do anything that is bad for the USA. It's our home. You sound para noid.

I think the problem is that you have fallen prey to the liberal way of thinking: we say we care, therefore you must not care. It's not that simple. I promise you, the right cares about humanity, civil right, the environment, and education just as much as you do. Where we differ is in our approaches to dealing with these issues.

What you see as "greedy" can be a misinterpretation of intent. For example, let's talk about feeding the hungry. The left says, "here's money for food" while the right says "let's help you get a job to support yourself". Both approaches work, and truly, both approaches are necessary. But the right gets painted as "heartless" because we don't want to just hand the money over.

Do we help you today or help you help yourself?

I have found that the left believes governments should take care of people. The right believes that people should take care of themselves, and let's make that job as easy as possible.

It's so easy to say the left cares more. It's just a matter of how you look at it.

NOTE TO VLASKO: I didn't realize you were looking for permission to soapbox your views. I was under the impression you were seeking the honest exchange of views. That would imply you were going to think about the answers. Apparently, you only thought about them long enough to pick them apart. What a waste of good opportunity. Well I would say your second sentence is a lie as most liberal statements are. Secondly I would say you have not actually looked at any of the achievements such as welfare reform ,or testing in schools to make sure our children are at least taught something for the money we throw at education,or the great economy and stronger stance in world issues.


Civil rights? the same civil rights that democrats filibustered are those the civil rights you are talking about? Not only don't you know the present you don't know your history either.

Because you are a liberal and could not see the truth if it hit you in the nose. Reality is based on facts....beliefs are OPINIONS...and just like a butt everybody has one. Most are full of...@$#%
How about if I ask your question this way...Why do the FACTS show that Liberals only care about supporting the enemy and all things that are anti-US. They want entitlement programs and want those that work for a living to pay for those that want to goof off, taking the money out of the hard workers...Why haven't they learned that socialism and communism DO NOT WORK?
Beliefs are good...BUT reality is where you need to live...

You can believe all that you want, but that does not mean it's true. Conservatives are not flattered by the media, generally speaking. But remember that most of us are very hard working people who don't want to be mandated to share the fruits of our efforts. If we can work to make a buck, so can the next guy. enough with the excuses. Why is that wrong? Now, understand that I donate time and money to charities/non-profits of my choice (and lots of both!!!).

No one necessarily cares more than anyone else as you pointed out. There are just different ways of showing you care. An example of the conservative POV..........relationship between college basketball players and coaches. Coaches yell and scream to get the best out of their players. If the players do not perform they are benched. This is definitely a conservative ideal. What is wrong with it?

There comes a time in your life when you need to realize you cant save the world and need to just save yourself.
The majority of the people in the world don't wanna change and won't, world peace will never happen and there will always be hunger and famine somewhere.
