The question really is not a racial one but well some of you had to distinguish between black and white, don't ya'll get tired. Cause it really is getting tedious (yawn).

I'm not racist, I went to a white school for most of my life, have white friends and really don't have anything against "white" people I never experienced apartheid or racism. But I'm really getting tired of people like you Smiley and your comments. You want to make it about colour? Well it was all fine and dandy when black people were getting the harsh treatment they endured during the apartheid era. All the opportunities(where they worked, schooled, lived etc.) that they were deprived off. Was that right? did we deserve that? Look I'm not saying that I totally agree with what's happening in the country this era, however when are you people going to stop with the white/black issue. This is both our land and no one should be mistreated, everyone should get a piece of the pie. People like you Smiley actually prevent this country from healing, moving forward and growing as a unit, instead of black or white, green or yellow. People like you Smiley are actually poisonous.

If you not happy with this country and are not willing to actually do anything to bring about a positive change, one that'll benefit you, me, and everyone else (black, white,red,green etc) besides moan and groan, point fingers - then sista I suggest you pack and go. This country needs positive, willing, eager, optimistic, risk takers, courageous, determined people regardless of their colour. We already have enough corrupt ones (black and white, green and yellow).

Smiley i don't think you are a bad person really, I hear you concerns but I think you tackling them in a wrong way. You are fuelled by so much anger and it really won't help. I'm not trying to take this country from you, you are a part of it as much as I am.

There is nothing wrong with South Africa. I don't think white people should complain about the job situation , you had a few decades head start in being educated.

The truth is that there are lots of South African employers that would not employ blacks unless they were forced to.

I am a South African Indian and I am not complaining - I think that black South Africans should be given preference for once.

South Africa has internet but with one of the most expensive (the most expensive?) telecommunications provider in the world, internet is expensive.

There are few things right with South Africa, with crime rampant (and that´s only referring to the government) and other Apartheid systems in progress (affirmative action, BEE) South Africans are hard pressed to find the positives other than the well worn phrase about it being a beautiful country.

It´s a bit like a high class model, beautiful on the outside but with serious baggage that nobody with an instinct for self preservation will go near.

Thato, as long as whites are denied jobs on grounds of skin colour, we will complain. No job, no money, no food, no f___in senseless rhetoric of being part of the country. Most whites, like myself, desperately share your hope of a non-racial SA, but racist policies are forced upon us. Did black people complain in the past when they were denied jobs. For sure, and rightly so. Any form of racial discrimination merit criticism up to the point where it is removed.
For almost a year I applied for jobs (with 3 university degrees) and was time and again told, I'm the exact candidate they're looking for, but can't employ me due to government policies. I had to start borrowing money just to eat. In the end I was forced to accept a job outside my beloved country to stay alive. Don't you dare make AA off as not so bad! You don't feel it in your stomach.
Stand up for what's right fellow-South African and don't ignore wrongs just because it benefits you.

South Africa has in the last 13 years turned into the worlds capital of crime, violence, infant rapes, torture and hatred.
It is run by a government of communist thugs who parade as hero's and enforce their racist/fascist policies on all and then call themselves a democracy. You are not even entitled to an opinion in South Africa should you carry the misfortune of being white, any opinions are "racist" as far as the denialist communist government is concerned.
Its actually quite a shame, seeing that it was once a beautiful country. Even tourist sites are not safe, this morning a woman was founded raped and brutally murdered at "Gods Window".
As far as the ANC is concerned there is no crime and as long as whites leave in droves and are oppressed they keep smiling.

It is a racist society. Whites are treated really bad when it comes to employment.

It's not the fact that whites are discriminated due to employment, whites whether Afrikaaner or Eitlander get better jobs in comparison to the rest of the population.

It's the fact since majority rule, whites in society are discriminated against, whether in restaurants waiting ages for a table etc. But at the same time Afrikaaners are very racist and live in their own self contained way...They're just as bad as each other!

What's wrong is...

High rate of HIV and AIDS, High rate of poverty and high rate of crime and murder.
