My friend has been engaged to his fiancee for a few months. They both love each other, but he only knew her for a week before they got engaged, and he came to me asking how he should tell her that he loves her. So I told him to talk to her, and he told me that he got engaged to her. And he has been lending her a lot of money. He has lent her over $5k AUD now, and its still going. She says that its for work, she comes from Malaysia, and that's how they do business in that country, is that she is a project coordinator and she collects clients and gets projects, that she has to pay them to hire her, and then if she does a good job they will pay her. I think that this is a lie, and she is just using him. What should I say to him? I don't want to tell him that she is using him, and that the relationship won't last.

She isn't an Australian citizen, she lives and works in Malaysia, but he is a citizen, and she chain smokes like nobody's business. And the money she borrows isn't small amounts, its like several hundreds of dollars.

Since I am not familiar with the employment laws of Malaysia, I cannot make a judgement against her. She could very well be telling the truth. I have heard of some American companies charging a fee to employees to obtain a job. I understand your concern for your friend, but you need to some honest research on her company and her background before you go to him with your feelings about his girlfriend. He loves her, and will naturally not want to believe you. If you have solid evidence, you need to physically show him your proof.

She's a gold-digger! Maybe the "honey" she's giving him is good enough to blind him. If that's how they do business in Malaysia, then her COMPANY will give her "incentive money" for prospective clients. There's a new wardrobe and furniture in this chick's house, for sure! (All funded by him!)

I think she's lying!!! 1 week doesn't really allow you to fall in love with someone with whom you would like to spend the rest of your life with. Is she an aus citizen?? If she is'nt she may be in it for a green card. Then again, your friend will be heart-broken if you tell him not to marry her. I think you should give him your support, tell him whatever his decision is entirely up to him.

Yikes. Talk to him but b sensitive to his feeling about her. Just walk him through why her explaination doesn't make sense and maybe he should make some phone calls to see where is money is going. He shouldn't lend/give her any more.

The only thing you can do is talk to him seriously once to tell him how you feel.and then keep youre mouth shut.It will be a costly experiance for him,but he will find out on his own.We all have to.
