Janice, I could not agree with you more.

Samuel, what on earth makes you think I don't support him? Ask yourself, when someone says "gay", do you instantly think they are being negative? Hmmm...(serious question).

Meroo - I asked the question because I think there are many Americans who need to understand that there are brave men and women, straight and homosexual, who are sacrificing for us every day. The "don't ask don't tell" thing should be abolished - it's ridiculous and embarassing to our "democracy" and perpetuates discrimination.

Samuel, he didn't die, but he lost his right leg. It never crossed my mind that he was hit by friendly fire. I don't know why you think I implied that - my question was pretty simple and straightforward.

Yes, he was easier to shoot because of the way he was running away.

Ummmm. So what's your point? Are you implying he died of friendly fire? Was he running around with a big sign saying "Shoot me! I'm gay!"? Would you rather be there fighting for your freedom?

I'm conservative by the way. You should honor him for the sacrificed he made for you, not his personal preferences. All people can contribute to their country.

I believe that all of our men and women should be honored because of their sacrifices for us. Why do they have to be singled out as to their sexual preferences? I am very conservative and disagree with all of this gay business but this man deserves the same respect and dignity as all of the brave soldiers over there because he was a man/soldier who was putting his life on the line for all of us here in the U.S. God Bless Him.

Why should his being gay matter? He was a MARINE. Went through the same training and character building as any other Marine! They are proud and true...I thank them, and every one in the military, for sacrificing their lives and their dreams for us.
