if you went back in time to a point before you were born and accidentally killed one of your parents.
you would not be born (as one of your parents are dead) but because you were never born you could not have killed you parents so you were born and so did go back and kill one of your parents.
i'm confused please help explain

Best, though not the easiest way of thinking about it is that if you did that, reality has split into an extra dimension where you were not born. You never exist in the other dimension, but you have not altered the dimension you came from so the "you" that did the killing is unaffected.
Very difficult to get your head around but it is based on Hyperspace theory (which will impress the Star Trek fans out there)

It is a Grandfather Paradox.
For a solution, you might consider an alternative, such as this: there is a theory that if you go back in time, you go to an alternate universe/dimension, so killing your "parents" just eliminates the "you" in the other universe/dimension. Upon entering your own dimension/universe, you will see everything as normal. Perhaps it was your fate in the OTHER universe/dimension to never be born, however, so you were just fulfilling fate by entering it and killing your parents.

To go back in time, you needed to be born.
therefore, since you cant go back in time, you currently are born thus making you kill one of your parents impossible.
So since neither of your parents died before you were born, you were born.
Allowing you to want to go back in time and kill one of your parents so you were never born..
EXPLAINED!
oh, and if you blame ur parents for anything.... look in the mirror.. they do their best to guide you and teach u right & wrong... it's up to u to make the final deciscion.
So go back in time, in ur mind, and figure out where u went wrong.

i think if you could travel back and did kill one parent, you would like disappear upon his or her death. Once he or she died, the course of history would change. You would not be created, or grow up and eventually travel through time. You essentially would melt away into oblivion.
