It's not the proper thing to do. But on the note of super glue, it as invented during a war (Vietnam I think) for first aid for soldiers in the field. Even huge wounds the only available cure was a big glob to hold you together so you wouldn't bleed to death getting to a medical center. So no, it wouldn't be toxic for the dog. Most groomers keep it on hand for emergencies. Dogs who come in covered in matts will sometimes have their skin split (not cut) and need to have it repaired. On the other hand if the case is true the grommer was certainly wrong, she would have done best to put the ear in ice water and rush to the nearest animal emegency or vet office.

well, a dogs ear is a very vascular area so if the ear was actually cut off it woud have been impossible to stop the bleeding. if the ear was knicked it is possible that the groomer used liquit stitches. However, that is the reason groomers have insurance and all kinds of legal protection. their service is consider a "luxury" service and by one opting to pay for those services one is agreeing to the terms of the insurance. obviously if the wound was very bad the groomer should have immediatly taken the dog to the vet and PAY that bill.

If it were my dog, I would take my dog to the vet for treatment. If the groomer used regular super glue to attach the piece of ear back on, it has to be toxic for the dog. I would then go back to the groomer with my vet bill and demand that they pay it as they were the ones responsible and I would most likely rip them a new one and never go there again.

People are sick. That really is a shame. Mistakes are mistakes, y'know what I mean? If the groomer would have just fessed up, the dog would have gotten proper medical care. Covering it up by super-gluing it on AND by doing so possibly causing the dog more harm...it was just tragic. She deserves to be sued now.

Stranger things have happened I guess, but I find it hard to believe. Although one wrong move from a poor little dog definitely has the potential to cause nicks or gashes where they should not be, but I would hate to think someone working in that field would try to cover it up in such a way, rather than seek the medical council the animal would need.

That is what the woman claimed and she went to the police with it and they believed her. What will come of it who know. If it happened to my dogs, I would sue. Ten year ago I would have gone after the person and cut off one of their ears to see how they liked it. But I am a kinds and gentler person in my old age.

If that happened to my dog, there'd be a groomer without an ear right now.
