Just finished reading Merlin by Norma Lorre Goodrich about the actual, true, historical figure Merlin. Not a page turner but very, very, good. For an excellent page turner,I would recommend everything and anything by Mary Stewart. Her writings are a mix of romance and mystery that will sweep you away to other lands. She also wrote a trillogy about Merlin/Arthur starting with The Crystal Cave.

'Kafka on the Shore' by Haruki Murakami.

It's quite thick so it should keep you occupied for a couple of days. I stayed up late into the night because I couldn't put it down. It's philosophical and beautiful and bizarre but it's not fantasy or sci fi. Murakami writes like poetry, and it's like nothing I've ever read.

It has a bit of romance, a bit of mystery, a LOT of intrigue, and a LOT to keep you reading. I don't see how anyone could NOT like it. It's a real cult novel.

Kafka On The Shore by Haruki Murakami. It's a very surreal portrait of a boys mind. It's almost impossible to describe properly, as the plotline is pretty complicated, but it is a fantastic and addictive read.

My personal favorite book is called "The stand" by Stephen King, its about where the military makes a bug and it gets out in the open, it kills off most of the population, but quite a few people are ammuned to it......if I keep going on i'll tell you the plot etc. so i'll just leave it there!

The Black Dahlia. It is really popular right now. It is about this woman who gets murdered and the detectives that become obsessed with finding her killer. It is based on a true story and written by the Dahlia's (son?) I think. I read it in two days and passed it on to a friend who did the same. It's great!

I just finished the key trilogy series by Nora Roberts, a bit predictable at times but I felt worth the read.

Anything by Philip K. D i c k is a good read. (Sadly Yahoo answers censored his name, lol. It is his real name and not a body part.)

Science fiction with emphasis on how we react with our society.

Strangely relavant in our new paranoia era?

I just read "Cell" by Stephen King. I liked it, but honestly, I enjoy his "pre-sobriety" work alot more.
