Okay, so I'm a guy in my early to mid 20's, heading to Florida for a week of watching spring training games. I've already bought/reserved everything as far as a flight/car/hotels/game tickets go.

I've never been to Disney before and since I have a day with no games plus a 2nd day with an afternoon Mets-Braves game at WWOS Ballpark in Orlando on the schedule I figure I can avoid years of therapy later in life to get over my parents not taking me there.

I've been going over other answers on here about rides etc. and been reading about the Hopper...I only plan on going on a couple rides since I'm going by myself. Are the parks close enough to make it worth doing the Hopper? Any rides that would be a waste of time (like any Skull Mountain at Six Flags)?

Just wanted to say thanks...I'm gonna check and see what my library has as far as guidebooks to supplement the info you've given me.

I like the notion of the single rider line since I wasn't planning on getting a FastPass in addition to the Hopper.

I would suggest you get a 2 - day park hopper. You could do part of the day at Magic Kingdom and part of the day at MGM, etc.

I don't think ANY of the rides are a waste of time there. I love them all! Don't be bashful because you are by yourself. When we go (It is usually my 60 year old sister, her 2 daughters ages 41 & 31, me- age 44 and my 26 year old son) we usually take advantage of the "single rider" lines that many of the rides offer. We don't ride together, but we do get on more quickly than waiting in the regular queue.

I don't usually get the park hopper option on our tickets, because we always have plenty of time for one park per day. However, I went in December and we did 3 day hopper passes. We only "hopped" on one day, but it was worth it.

You could go to a local bookstore in your area and purchase (or just browse) a guidebook to Disney World so you can get an idea of the rides you would want to check out.

You will have a great time even if you are alone. My older niece lives in Florida and she often goes by herself!

I agree - I'd get the 2 day park hopper as well. The only two Disney parks which are within walking distance are EPCOT and the Disney MGM Studios. And the walk along the lake takes about 15-20 minutes, so it isn't a quick stroll.
However, Disney's shuttle service moves pretty quick! I've spent many days at Disney by myself. When I worked there, my roommates and then bf (now my hubby) didn't have the same shift as me. So if I wanted take advantage of the time I had there, when I was off and everyone else was working, I'd go alone. You can still have a lot of fun - even if you're by yourself! With a half day at each park, you'll be able to see a lot! Pick 2 parks for each day and enjoy.
The only attractions I do not recommend are the Narnia Exhibit at the studios. Everything else is great!

I love Disney World, just got back from there actually! I would get a Park Hopper for 2 days. It really is the best way to see Disney. Once on Disney property you can use Disney Transportation to get from park to park. To get from the Magic Kingdom to Epcot use the Monorail ( its the quickest). The monorail will also take you to the Ticket and Transportation Center. From Epcot you can get to MGM Studious via boat at the Worldshowcase part. It's between England and France. They have busses running from park to park out front also. It normally takes 20-30 minutes to get from park to park anyway you go.

Being that you are in your 20's if you plan on going clubbing you might as well add the "plus" option which will get you on to Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney. That's where all the clubs are. The busses run from there till appox. 2am every night. Hope you have a great time and utilize the "fast pass" if the lines are long. You can get more done in a day then and it comes with your ticket.

Don't forget to look for hidden Mickey's. Also I would definately check out Illuminations at Epcot's Worldshowcase. It is every night at 9pm. At Epcot I would check out Test Track, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, and Maelstom ( at Norway).

At MGM the Tower of Terror and the Rockin' Rollercoaster! Fantasmic is pretty cool too- not a must see though. It is every night at 7pm.

At the Magic Kingdom you have to do all three Mountains! Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain.

And finally the Animal Kingdom; definately check out Mt. Everest. It's a really smooth roller coaster not to mention fun. Not the biggest thrill ride in the books though.

Hope this helps and have a 'Magical Time'

I would say getting the park hopper and going from one park in the morning to another in the afternoon that's the best u can do in two days but one ride u shouldn't bother going on is its a small world in Disney world and all those kiddie rides like snow white and stuff like that.

If I were you I would do EPCOT--it's beautiful and not too youthful. IF you want kiddie stuff--then Magic Kingdom is for you. Animal Kingdom is beautiful--tons of animals and a few rides. IF you do get the hopper you could go to MK during the day and head to EPCOT to dinner by monorail~~~~Have fun!!
