Work has become a real downer lately. I've gotten more and more depressed about the way they treat me. I used to suffer from depression years ago, but their treatment at the moment is getting me more ill. I work in an office so its not like my job is hard but I feel like I'm being bullied by management. I could never speak up because it would cost me my job and any hopes of a future one.

If I go home sick today I could get taken to a stage 3 disciplinary meeting where I would surely get sacked and let me assure you. I would never get an office job again if I got sacked at stage 3 which basically constitues gross misconduct. What to do?

How can you describe it as gross misconduct if you are sick so what aren't you telling us, if your sick your sick all you have to do is go to the DR. and if you are being mistreated file a complaint with the EOC if you can't with upper management.

Haven't you got a union or ombudsman you can speak too? Or perhaps you could ask for a meeting with your office manager or boss, and find out why you are getting singled out for this type of treatment? If you go on quietly 'taking it' it will not stop, it will cause you to have a mental break-down! So nip it in the bud before it gets worse! If you prove that you had a mental break-down due to your work environment you could sue them for damages! Bullies are easily frightened when threatened themselves. So mention that fact and mention in a calm way of course that you would regard them liable and that you have a solicitor ready to sue them if the abuse continues. It will work, I promise you! Have a good day!

I feel your pain. I pulled in a sickie today....had a rough evening last night and couldn't face going in to work today...

Maybe you could spend some time alone and really think about having a career change? find out what you love and where your passions lie (your calling). You need a vacation and need time to heal from your depression. I'm definitely going to spend the day thinking about what I'm going to do!

Also, you cant help feeling sick so they would be dumb to sack cause of that......but anyway...the choice is yours.....remember if you do go home....remember to spend your time wisely.....

theres always hope! good luck

Unless you want to get fired DO NOT go home "sick" - just suck it up and when you DO go home for the day, get online and start looking for another job now!

I know how it feels to work at a place like that. I used to work for a co. where they treated me like crap and it was a horrible feeling! I was depressed and it made me physically sick.
I ended up leaving and felt better.

There is NO reason an adult (at a job!) should have to feel the way you do!
I say find a job now and quit on them!!!

Ha!

Sleep facilitates. soreness killers artwork too. i like to rub some lavender oil on my temple and lay down with the two a funky washcloth over my eyes or a heating pad or warm water bottle on my neck. It relies upon how the migraine impacts you i assume. in basic terms attempt to take a seat down back.

Hello!
.
Maybe it is your depression which is making things look a little worse than they are.
Have you thought about a visit to the doctor? maybe it is time to go have a check up.
I would do this first then have a talk with your boss .
Take care!

If you feel so down about your job, you should book a hoilday or look for something different. A change of enviorment is much better for you. I have a few days off and I feel so much better.

don't yet.. but try to see your doctor after.. then talk to your boss.. see if anything's needed for you to have an official leave..

but if the management is bullying you, why don't you complain to an agency that handles those kind of stuff.. or ask your doctor to speak to your boss so you can resign..

i noticed that your profile is antichrist superstar. good luck with that. god can help you. only you can make the decision to leave work or not. you can resign. i wouldnt spend my time in a job like that. too depressing and life is too good. if you leave you could get a drs apointment and get a medical certificate. they couldnt fire you then could they? then give your notice of resignation

Good Luck!
