I'm planning to build an unexpensive PC with a DVD burner.

yes.. good enough.. actually its more than good enough... if youre planning to spend as low amount of money as you can.. you can even get Pentium 3 processor (yah classic oness-lol) The important thing about DVD burnings is da DVD burner itself.. get a good one -- i recommend get the latest Sony's Dual Layer DVD burner..

p/s: good luck with building the pc.. dont forget to buy fans or the harddisk would burn.. lol jkn. dont need da fan.. peace out dude!~

you don't need anything special to burn dvd's or cd's any old thing'll do just make sure you keep enough space on you hard disk to allow for temporary files while burning
