refraction of lightrays connot happen when the pieces are joined by cellophane tape.but still we get twwo images. why?

when you look yourself from the one piece of mirror the light come from your face and refraction of lightrays to the mirror and the mirror too refraction of lightrays to your eyes as a one one resoure and you see your self, but when the mirror broke to many piece , every piece role as a single mirror they refraction of lightrays , and in this case there are many resours of refraction of lightrays flow into your eyes , every refraction of lightrays from each piece have a diffrent direction of path .

If they could be aligned perfectly you would get a single image.
You would still see the crack but only one image.

because you can never line them up perfectly - as when in one piece
