Research similar items already for sale to see how well they sell and for what prices.
Make sure you list your item in the appropriate listing and spell check it.
Find out the postal costs including the wrapping before listing.
Include the best photograph you can (people will skip listings without a picture).
Be honest in your description.
Immediately contact the buyer and give congrats on their purchase.
Immediately acknowledge receipt of payment and indicate exactly when you will post the item.
Notify when it is posted and ask for them to let you know so you can give them feedback.
If there is a problem with the sale, be polite and non accusatory.

Hi – I sell on eBay. It works for me. I profit about $3,500 a month and only work about 6 hours a day, from home, on the schedule I choose. Your question is kind of vague - what do you want to know? Items to sell? Where to find them? Marketing? Customer service?
Please email me directly and I will be glad to share some tips on getting started and what kinds of things have worked for me.

Give as much detail as possible to save people having to ask questions. State whether your item still has the original packaging as people could be buying it as a gift and would prefer it. Some people ask if it is possible to collect if they are close enough. State within the item description whether you would be willing to do this or not. Keep in touch with the winning bidder.

Definitely make sure that you check the postage price! I've been stung by this many times and is even worse when you only sell things for a few pound!

My tip is, put you're items on Ebay so they end after 6pm in the evening or at weekends.
In my mind, thats when most people will be at home and not at work and so can bid
