I'm an aitheiest. I believe heaven is a metaphor for a guilt-free mind and hell is a metaphor for a guilty mind. The bible was written as a way to explain the uknown and as a means of social control. It cannot be written by a God because it is hypocritical and filled with holes that only create more questions.

I'm a Taoist.

Wasn't raised religiously, I think my dad is an agnostic, and my mum swings towards the Buddhist side of things. My Brother and Sister in law are devout Muslim and my Husbands family are Devout Roman Catholic. We have great conversations over the dinner table! But no arguements :) The only person who ever tried to influence me was my Nanny, she occasionally used to tell me find Jesus, but stopped when I told her that I wasn't looking for him.

I was brought up a Catholic, I still believe in God but I don't believe in Religion..... All the wars that have happened over the years and everybody has been fighting against each other in the belief of the same person. Jah, Allah, God etc are just his nicknames

Sad to say that the whole world is going to hell (if there is such a place). Our fathers and there fathers and there fathers said to beleive in god. Our money says in god we trust, the bill of rights has god all throught it. We live our lives by gods book (or alteast the condensed version). We have been taught things that we dont even know are from the bible because as kids we didnt listen anyway but we do live right because we were told to. You may not beleive in god but you know it is not right to kill some one. where do you think you learned that>?

P.S. Atheist

Hello,

(ANS) I'm an Atheist and proud to be.

I think you might get a shock if you found out how many atheists out number religous fundamentalists. Far more than you might imagine.

i'm from the UK, I'd be curious to know how many American atheists there are out there as on Yahoo Answers the Christians shout so loud it makes it seem like all Americans are devout Christians....

you should include a fourth category: God-fearing but not religious - I don't visit the Church nor get time to pray, but I've firm belief in God because that is a source of inner strength for me.
