I have drilled a hole for a rawbolt and tapped the fasterner part in however the threads on the nut fail to allow the screw to engage. I think I should have drilled the hole deeper. How can I remove the fastener element without breaking the concrete to deepen the hole and install a replacement?

In the past I have drilled the hole out, but the rawl bolt can spin with the rotation of the drill.

What has worked for me is to get a longer heavy duty screw driver, rotate the driver around the in the hole, this generally loosen the shell , expands the hole slightly to allow extraction and then pull it out with some pliers. The other two guys are right though if doesn't spin in the hole, it will work

If the hole then gets to big re -fit the rawlbolt else where or pack the hole with grip fill or similar. Or alternatively try some chemical resin, works better than rawlbotls, much much better quality of fixing

Put the screw back into the rawlbolt and give it a whack with a hammer. This will release the grips
then find a screw that will be a tight fit for the bit of the bolt you can see. Put a claw hammer or crow bar on the screw and lever it out

The only way I ever found was to use a high speed steel drill, remove the rawlbolt bit in bits by winkling it out....maybe a magnet will help......

Screw a slightly bigger screw in and pull out with pliers.
