Well, dead is dead, right? Nobody put up reservations where the jews could live off the governments. My family came to America from Russia but we are actually Germans who were recruited by Catherine the Great to come to Russia with free farm ground. When the politcal climate began to change, many immigrated to the United States. Those who stayed in the German style and speaking settlements were all along the Volga river and Stalin loaded them all on to box cars and sent them with only the clothes on their backs to Siberia in the winter. Of course, most died. My ancestors were some of the last to come over, in 1891 so I'm very grateful for that but they were reviled when they came here. There were actually stories in the newspaper about how they were stinky. Let's see, wagon ride from Russia to Germany where they could catch a boat, boat ride in awful conditions to US, train ride to where the rail road ended and then a wagon ride to Western Kansas. I wonder how many bath tubs they came across along the way. They were given the boat ride and the transportation to their new homes and the land to farm along the tracks by the railroad. They wanted the area settled so the Indians wouldn't tear out the tracks and cut the telegraph wires so now we are back to persecuting the Indians by farmers who were persecuted in Russia???? The Indians still get huge hand outs from the government and don't try to tell me they don't because I have a cousin who is half and he gets big bucks. The govt builds them houses and community centers and heaven only knows what else. Only Indians are allowed to build and operate casinos in Kansas so if they were persecuted they are doing ok now. Germans from Russia where given a plot of dry ground farm land and they had to make it on their own and they are still growing wheat all over Kansas. I can't think of anything anyone ever gave the Jews so between having 6 million gassed and being given zilch since it must be them who have been persecuted the most and still are. Round about way but I guess I answered your question. By the way "Bloody Sleeves" Crawford is one of my ancestors and of course one of my Uncles relatives. He's the one who married an Indian woman who was my favorite Aunt. She was taken from the reservation and put into a girl's school to be taught white ways and it worked just fine other than the fact that she lost touch with all her Indian ways. So as it turned out, my Uncle's ancestor was one of the most brutal Indian killers ever to step foot in the state of Kansas and my Uncle married an Indian woman about 60 years later and they had a wonderful marraige. Weird, huh?
