Not sure, but it's definitely the most comfortable thing to sit on by this point in pregnancy - no harm in giving it a go.
Also, try a few drops of clary sage oil in your bath
but really, they come when they're good and ready!
Good luck

sounds like you need something quick, a yoga ball just help when your in labour. you rock on it to help with the pain
things for you to try and they do work
1. get someone to go to the health shop and get some raspberry leaf tea, if you drink this it wont be long befor you go into labour
i told my mum about this she got some and a day later she had my little sister.
2. i read this in my baby book if you squeeze your nipples then stimulate you and bring on labour there apart in the baby book that says to avoid doing this in early pregnancy because it brings on labour.
3. spicy foods
ive just found a link for you to look at
good luck and hope it all goes well
ill say congradulations now x

I don't think bouncing around on a ball is a good ideal. And I know haveing a beer is not!! Try walking it helps sometimes. Any mild physical activity might help. It is said that sex will help to if you are able to at this point. Try a soak in a warm bath. And did I mention WALKING and lots of it!! Don't stop just keep walking...

Hi, i was taken into our local maternity ward last week due to contractions or so we thought!, anyway i was put onto a ward with 3 other girls and we were up talking quite lat with one of them who was in labour and had been gettin contractions for 24 hrs. the 2 other girls knew eachother and had both had children before. They advised the woman to ask for a birthing ball as she had not tryed one yet and they told her it would help! she got on the ball, her contractions got alot stronger and within an hour she was taken into delivey. so my answer is YES!

In all honesty, i tried everything but the yoga ball. Nothing worked. That little girl came when she wanted to and she came fast! (1.5 hours of labor).
Just keep busy, keep walking, have sex if you want to try that....

luckily I didnt have this problem but i did 'research' induction methods when my due date was coming around. didnt want to have my doc do it. a few things I was saw was jogging, drinking a bit of castor oil, and the more enjoyable nipple stimulation and sex. dont know where i came across it but i guess theres something in males sperm that helps. ahha heres a link that has tons of info. http://www.bellybelly.com.au/articles/birth/natural-induction-methods

yoga ball is not a proven method of inducing labour. it works for different people i different ways.my wife used it and it slowed down her labour.
try a hot curry with a pint of guiness or hardcore sex.
again they only work sometimes.
