First and foremost thing for us is to know right from the wrong. Values can change from time to time. And many people will vouch for some values which for others may not be worthwhile.
We should rate our practices by our own minds and not by other's minds. Others include our parents and teachers. Every soul is different, and one who is your father in the present birth could be your number 1 enemy in the coming births.
So first thing is to accept the fact that we all are different. Now when we think about values we will have a unbiased mind.

Depends on what you think are values. To each his/her own. It is nobody preserve to shove some personal bigoted idea of Indianism or values down someone else's throat.
In any case, I am happy and proud to be an Indian.
Losing values, losing Indianness is some cultural fanatic's idea of propogating his group and ideas. Hey, if the values are deep-rooted, nothing in the world can shake it off and you can never loose them. If it can be so easily lost, IT WAS NOT WORTH HAVING IN THE FIRST PLACE.
So rest in peace. If it were worthy value, it would stay - if not, adapt new values (there won't be any dearth for new cultural propoganda machines)

there is a popular indian called RED ELK that i know of, and his beliefs include both christianity and his ancestors.
but personally the only reason the indian culture in America has been preserved is to prove that there were ONCE a people that did worship God that were not Jewish or muslim, but were descendants from several eastern heritages. There is also the book of mormon, which declares that some indian cultures had a basic Jewish foundation from a prophet Lehi.
However it is very evident that Most indian cultures are descendants from Idolatry and from false religion that killed all the Righteousness that was had among the different indian cultures in america and south america. Thus what these types of indian tribes believe in, is actually a corruption of their true heritages.
As for the Indian cultures in India! they too have a direct connection to the Apostles of Jesus both in their libraries of religious belifs as well as direct blood line lineages to the apostles. but then again their culutre is likewise corrupt with Drugs and cultures that commit idolatry as well.
please dont think i am speaking of you personally. Even christianity and Judaism and Islam are Corrupted by false teachers and idolatry. So there is no pure religion on the face of the planet. All socieities eventually Choose to follow satan, and then the majority of thier idolatry ends up Murdering the Prophets of God.

Quite true we are fast moving towards the Yuppie culture of the west . Lot of it is because we still feel our self deprived and be live that West is best. You may hear lot of new Jargon's being used like accreditation, standard what are these nothing really thee are just gimmicks which we Indians are so fond of. Even if you talk about IT companies or MNCs you find more and more people are taking up the western culture of partying out of no reason, Drinking like hogs even females are not behind the term virginity is a lost opportunity is quite prominent among them.

Sadly yes. There's something disturbing our own culture and ethics. Actually we have wrongly manipulated our freedom. We are either not interested in our own culture, or we donot have enough knowledge about it. Someone drops in and says, 'your culture sucks, it's all about untouchability, domination over women, etc.' and we agree to it without actually looking at the real picture.
We don't care to realize that plenty of people around the globe are adopting our cultural pracitses like yoga, meditation, etc. Resaerches are being carried out over ayurvedic treatments because they feel it can providew best remedy for a lot of diseases. There are a lot of things that India has gifted to the world. I won't be surpirsed if I find a european knowing more than me about our culture.
I think it's high time we should gather ourselves and first try to understand what India is all about before reaching out for any conclusion for the country. People follow the west calling it modernization. But frankly speaking, they follow stupid things that create a fake social status, and in a way suffice there desires. One wants to have sex with someone, Indianism would stop him. But with the hype of modernization, he would give way to his evil desires.
Why don't these very same people learn the positive aspects of the west? Why don't they learn about cleanliness, recycling trash, creating and organized office environment, etc.? Because these things are not at all beneficial for their desires.
We gotta realize what we are and what we want from ourselves before falling from this so called western culture with the pretext of modernization...

INDIA BEING AN ANCIENT CIVILISATION HAD ACHIEVED THE REFINEMENT OF HUMAN CULTURE DUE TO YEARS LONG EXPERIMENT AND PRACTICE . IN SOME EXTENT INDIANS ARE LOSING THEIR VALUES AND INDIANISM DUE TO EXTERNAL INFLUENCES WHICH IS TEMPORARY. THE CORE AREA OF INDIA CANNOT BE CHANGED AND IT WILL SPRING BACK SOONER. LOOK THE 2500 SCIENTISTS DRAWN FROM 130 NATIONS HAVE RECENTLY PREDICTED GLOBAL WARMING WILL DESTROY THIS PLANNET WITHING TEN YEARS. THERE IS STILL TIME FOR THE WORLD COMMUNITY TO UDNERSTAND WHAT INDIANS SAGES HAVE TOLD CENTURIES BACK. ECONOMY IS AN EXTENSION OF ECO SYSTEM.

The answar to the question is yes & no both. The virtue that we in-herit is gradually making imprint the world over luring to bring the world community within the ambit of the values of Indianism. The fact is that in the race of development & progress, it more imaginary than real.
