In the U.S., Kbps stands for kilobits per second (thousands of bits per second) and is a measure of bandwidth (the amount of data that can flow in a given time) on a data transmission medium. Higher bandwidths are more conveniently expressed in megabits per second (Mbps, or millions of bits per second) and in gigabits per second (Gbps, or billions of bits per second).

On your task bar, if you hove the mouse over your network/internet icon it will tell you the speek in mbps. add a 0 and it's kbps. i.e. if it's 100 mbps then it's 1000 kbps

Kbps is kilobits (thousand bits) per second. Many people confused it with kilobytes. 8 bits make up 1 byte. This speed is the data transfer speed between 2 devices, for example from the server to the PC, or vice versa.

'Down' is the download speed while 'up' is uploading speed. It is common for most Internet services to have upload speed that is much slower than download speed. This is because data is downloaded from the Internet most of the time.

kbps and kbs (or Kbps and Kbs) means the same. Some people omit the p for 'per' in the acronym.

kbps means kilo bits per second. It is related to the data transmission rate. It means at what speed the data is travelling over the Internet. For example:
64 kbps means approx 64000 bits per second can be transferred on that particular line which is approx 8000 characters.

Honestly, I never heard of kbs. May be it is short for Kilo Bytes, but we use KB for kilo bytes.

well there are bits per second, and that's how all speed sites show u the speed, and there are bytes per second witch bitcomet show u.... this is how u do it 1 byte = 8 bits... 1990 / 8 = 248.75
