Turn on your tv, Or radio to take mind off of it.

If you still live at home, go sleep on the couch - maybe you'll feel closer to family?

Go to bed and put a headset on with your favorite music so that you can't hear anything.

Sorry to hear you are afraid of storms. Nothing bad will happen though, just remember that.

What kind of storm are we talking about here? Tornado? Hurricane? Blizzard? Dust Storm? You probably should be a little scared of some storms but if you're just worried about some thunderstorm or something then I'd say you need to face down your fear. Pull up a chair to the front door or the window and watch it. Watch the lightning, listen to the thunder, watch it rain. It's good man......Then you won't be afaid no more....

Anthony,

Just remind yourself that the storm is nature's way of giving us the water we need. Remember that it is rare for people to get hurt during storms. And just try to think of the rain and thunder/lightening as soothing. If that doesn't work, try having your radio on, or television set, and distract yourself.

You might want to consider moving to Hawaii.... lol... they don't have thunderstorms!

Take care

Do you know what are you afraid of? What could happen to you? Is it just a thunderstorm or do you have a tornado warning? I think the best way of not being afraid is informing yourself about what's coming and what could happen. That way you know what to look for and how to protect yourself. You don't give a lot of information to help you better, but you can go to www.noaa.com and see what's coming for you. If that doesn't help... Have to tried to pray? It sounds old fashioned but it helps!!! Trust me! =)

Get a case of Jack Daniels, invite a few friends over, and have a party. 'Hurricane parties' are a way of life in the Caribbean. And a pretty good way of life at that ☺
