Has anyone worked for a charity abroad, if so then how do you go about this? Do you normally stay in one country at a time or keep going to different ones?

I would like to travel to different countries and thought by working for a charity then this would be an ideal way to do this.

Please tell me if you have ever done this or have any ideas for me.

Thank you.

e_mcla - Thank you for your reply. I finish at work on 30/03/07. I'm in South Africa for April then I'm weighing up my options for what to do.

Here you got away for a year committed to help out in poorer parts of the world.
Ideally they want people committed so you would be needing to commit to staying in one place for a minimum of 6 months to a year.

Good luck

I worked for a small charity in an orphanage in Albania 6 or 7 years ago, it was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend it. The charity is Hope and Homes for Children and they are always looking for volunteers, good luck.
