My child is on special needs at school as she has dyslexic traits. She is going to be put on a Mediated Learning programme later this year. Can anybody explain, in easy to understand terms, what Mediated Learning consists of. Thanks. xx (We're in UK)

Community Planning:

It is probably no different than that of a community plan where experts are invited to the table. My only problem with mediated learning is this.

Inequitable: Financial experts are not brought to the table and it is in this way any of these designs fail.

You cannot put food in a pill. By definition what this means is the scope of resources needed are not cut and dry. How we access funding for programs is very limited.

Take for example the area of sports. How many kids got to play hockey because of Tim Hortons ? And why leave it up to Tim Horton's in the first place ? Why has hockey evolved to become such a violent sport ?

How many atheletes have been brought to the table in a community planning meeting.

Why is soccer the only field a muslim woman would need to design a scarf, why not figure skating too.

It is up to the child to discover what atheletic gift they have.

While your child may not learn in the classroom, he/she may prosper in sports and or music for the time being with the integration of social skills also in place never mind the need for counselling that fosters anti social conditioning.

Social workers, teachers, psychologists, psychiatrists, law enforcement, can't design all solutions at the table without an objective mediator,

That of an objective finance expert. Especially with learning disabilities should a dietician represent a community planning table as well as the athlete.

Is it fair to out source food to that of a food bank ? The landlord always receives cash so too does the food bank, where does the monoply begin and end. It is no secret there are more poor people than there are rich.

Try to find a four hundred dollar per month flat for a person with physical disabilities that needs a large bathroom space.

In a democratic Country shopping at Walmart should not mean I am sponsoring another demographic's election campaign. Where does the food bank shop and Christmas Daddies too ?

Until a fair and equitable finance expert represents the client at the table in mediated learning not all children can access fair and equitable services at so many levels where the scope of this blog cannot describe.

However one might ask why would a Mayor own a real estate company.
