Burn them all to an "MP3 DvD", which can hold about 1,000 songs, then copy them from that dvd, to the other computer's hard-drive.

you have several ways to do this
1) as you mentioned, the laptop that has the music, doens't come with CD burner, but instead just the CD-ROM.
2) If you're in a homenetwork, all you have to do is connecting them onto the network, enable sharing feature on both, and all you have to do is drag and drop the file from one laptop to another
3) if both of your laptops came with built-in Infra-red (IRD), enable them (most likely through BIOS setting), and aligning them next to each other, they will see each other, then all you have to do is drag and drop from one to other too.
4) There is another one to do is, by using crossover cable, using USB and/or serial cable to do this. You connect the cable to the laptop, install the software, and drag and drop them.

since u cannot burn CD, then one practical option is to us the THUMBDRIVE. A 1GB thumb/ flash drive can hold approx. 250 mp3 (average 4mB per song), then u will need to do it 2 times. And if both notebooks are having USB2.0, then the process can be very fast.
cheers.

You can burn them to mp3s, but you will be loosing the quality of the sound. or you can just link 2 pcs together and transfer the files, but if the 2 pcs not near each other and damn far, then, you may want to ask want to borrow a hardisck from one of your friends, external one mate, if any got that.

Hi there,
I'd probably transfer them onto my memory stick, i would upload them to my gmail account using a Firefox plug in called "G Space" and then download them to the laptop. But i would only consider this if you have a very fast internet connection otherwise it will take forever.
Cheers, ToNy!

cheapest is a crossover cable if they both have ethernet ports ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16812117831 ) crossover questions: ( http://www.experts-exchange.com/Networking/Misc/Q_20960308.html )
easiest is probably something usb ( external media drive, usb networking cable) fastest is likely firewire.
if you can get them both on the net, you can use something like this: http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/
and then you go to the ip address of the other computer in your internet explorer and download them.
to find your ip address for the hfs: http://www.ip-adress.com/
