It depends on what is normal for you. You may just have very, very fast clotting blood. If it is abnormal for you, then you need to see your gynecologist. I found a page that explains what clots are, please take a look at it.

It is perfectly normal to have clots in your period ... but the size of lemons?
Is there any chance you may have gotten pregnant? This could be a miscarriage. Best bet is to call the hospital and ask, or even better, pop over and get a doctor to answer your question.
Good luck!

No, blood clots the size of a lemon (which is much bigger than the size of a quarter) needs to be evaluated by a dr. Pls get in touch with your gyn or a primary care physician if you don't have one.

Hey,
There are various factors that underlie the real cause of uterine fibroids. There are primary causes that contribute to the development of the fibroids in the uterus, and then there are secondary causes that contribute to the aggravation of these present fibroids. There might even be external factors like, emotional upheavals, which disrupt the normal balance of the body and make you vulnerable to such diseases.
For further information I strongly recommend this online program http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=553

Go to your doctor for an answer. Clots that size are unusual, and you should be thoroughly examined.

My mom had this years ago. She ended up with fibroid tumors. When she was around 40, she had a hysterectomy(she still has her ovaries) and the problem ceased.
