Just give the plant a trim as its sprawling across your front door!!
Secretly killing a plant....
A herbicide is a pesticide used to kill unwanted plants. Selective herbicides kill specific targets while leaving the desired crop relatively unharmed.
Some of these act by interfering with the growth of the weed and are often based on plant hormones. Herbicides used to clear waste ground are nonselective and kill all plant material with which they come into contact.
Some home gardeners already use vinegar as a herbicide, and some garden stores sell vinegar pesticides.
Hope this helps.Good luck.

Legally, you can remove any part of your neighbour's plant which has entered your property/space and, sometimes, with hard cutting back, this can kill the plant, especially if it's done at the wrong time of the year. If you try do it using a weedkiller or similar, which can kill off the root system, you may find yourself in a spot of bother!
Cut it back, give the cuttings to your neighbour and ask him if he/she can deal with it from their side of the fence. If you're not on speaking terms, forget the last bit!

Just cut the bit that is sprawling across your door, or is within your property. You are entitled to do this, but it is a bit cruel to kill the plant altogether.

I can understand how you feel, having to deal with a problem like this, even murder seems logical,of the tree I mean ! Don't you think pruning or cutting back the offending part of the tree would be a better option.Give it serious thought before you take action.

According to the law if a neighbours plant, tree etc encroaches on your land you are entitled to ask then to trim it back, if they don't you can do it yourself. You must return the trimmings to them as they are theirs. you can cut it back to the boundary line. you can also put weed killer on it, but they could sue.
