For quite a while I didn't want to get married because of so many issues I saw with other marriages that I have grown up around. Even after I had been with him for 4yrs I didn't think it was for me but here I am married.
I decided that all the terrible things I have seen didn't have to be an issue for me as long as I dotted my I's & crossed my T's first. I never had to second guess myself if I was making the right choice. I knew I would always have him in my life, he is my best friend. I knew we could agree to disagree and we can work side by side all day long for months at a time and never get sick of each other. There were no major flaws aside from him leaving his socks lay on the livingroom floor (which he doesn't do anymore!) We fit very well.
I got married because I love him with my entire heart and soul. He's not perfect but I can live with the few annoying habits he has and he does the same for me. How boring would life be if it really were "perfect"? LOL! I've been with my husband for 7+yrs now and would still marry him all over again!

I have a couple friends who got married just because they didn't want to be left out. They wanted thier dream wedding but forgot how important it is to have the right guy to go with that dream. One friend is already trying to figure out how to get out of her marriage and she's only been married for 6mos!
Hope this answer helped you in what you are wanting to know.

I was bored and didn't want to live alone. My newfound girlfriend was hot and she was a virgin when I met her so I just figured the time was right. We've been married for 16 years and it has been rocky. It's all my fault, guaranteed. She's far better a person than I'll ever be. And yes, she loves me more than I love her. Why, I'll never understand because she could replace me with someone ten times better in no time flat. I, on the other hand, could search the rest of my life and never find a woman who could walk in her shadow. And to show you how stupid I am, I don't care. She's a freaking idiot Bush supporter. Hell, that explains why she's so STUPID. But, she is hot and she valued her sex enough to save it for me.

I got married to my wife because I could not see my life without her. I have felt like that since the first day I met her and I feel even more strongly about it now. I married her because I wanted to spend the rest of my life waking up next to her. I can't see me without her, she's just as big a part of me as I am ( I don't know if that makes sense to anyone or not)

1. you want to have children
2. You don't want to grow old alone. You'd rather have someone to share your life with. Most of your friends will have their own lives at some point in time, so you couldn't really rely on them to be there for you all the time.

or me it will be because I feel I have a lot to offer someone who is worthy of my love and affections. I don't want to go to work and come home to an empty home. My children are young adults (16-21), and they will beginning a life of their own, and after loving, nurturing, and mothering them, mom needs a sensual, mature, giving, and loving man to share her life with.

In no particular order, they were:

- we were hot and horny for each other.
- we discovered over time that we were both decent people; no neuroses to worry about.
- we were both ready to commit to a long-term relationship.
- we had the emotional maturity necessary for that relationship.
