Ok, yesterday I put a question on here about handmade jewellery that I make, thanks to those of you that have answered so far. I decided to go for it and put some on ebay but now I am interested to see if people actually do buy this kinda stuff off there or even bothers looking.

Has anyone else done this kinda thing before and had success selling handmade items on ebay? If you has and can give me tips please do.

It depends what the items are, I have bought loads of stuff from Ebay, I like unusual stuff, eye catching and different, so I spend a lot of time searching the ebay shops. If you have a link please email it to me, I'd like to see what you make.

I make handmade jewellery and have sold on ebay in the past but didnt have much success. The photos dont do the jewellery justice (unless you are a very good photographer.) I sell mine at craft fairs and a few local shops also have a stand with my jewellery on it.(go round a few shops in your area and ask - they can only say no!) I also hold jewellery parties and give the host 10% of her sales in free jewellery. I find this much more successful than ebay.

I haven't put hand made stuff on eBay but I take them to car boots etc.
If quite a few people bid on your items on eBay keep selling if you make a big success try and open a store. Sell stuff there call iot after your name. But make all different types of jewellery not all people like one style.

i've bought hand made jewellery on ebay before and it's been good quality and i returned to the same store time and time again as i knew she made really nice things.
i think as long as you do some classic pieces as well as unique ones, then you'll be fine. if you also say that you're happy to try and make things that people would like, then you might get some more business. sometimes i search for unique things, but may not always like what i find, so it'd be useful to know if someone could make what i wanted.

I make my own jewellery, but have so far only sold it at car boots. When I've made something I don't have the heart to sell it, cos It's my own creation. I've sold earrings or things I don't really want to keep, or give stuff to my sister's. no I haven't sold stuff properly
