You want an inexpensive five-star hotel? Good luck to ye! The very nature of five-stars make them expensive.

Being in the hospitality industry, here's what I would recommend for a honeymooning couple on a budget: 1) if you choose to stay in Manila, find a hotel that offers accommodations that meet your needs, has a great selection of amenities and facilities, and is close to the places you want to go; or 2) if you choose to head out of town, take a trip to a place known for its natural beauty and/or tourist attractions (so you can have a lot of photos), and book your flight and hotel well in advance.

There's no better time than today to go do that - Cebu Pacific is having a crazy promo, with fares going for P1! I'd rush to their website right now and book a flight to wherever you'd like to go!

There are many Manila boutique hotels (read: three-star) that offer clean, elegant rooms at half the prices of the five-stars. Among the many I would recommend are City Garden Suites (#3 on TripAdvisor for Makati hotel) in Makati (pool, gym, spa, and close to Rockwell for shopping! Use your honeymoon cash and buy household materials to start your marriage right!); Hotel Kimberly in Manila (walking distance to Robinson's Ermita, and a great homebase for trips to Intramuros, Corregidor, the Baywalk, and other great touristy spots in Manila); or my personal favorite, Discovery Suites in Ortigas (a little pricier, but the digs are lush and the service is superb!).

Now, if you'd like to go across the Philippines, I would readily recommend Palawan (fly to Puerto Princesa via Cebu Pacific, book at the Asturias Hotel or Hotel Fleuris, and work with their preset packages, which allow you to go island hopping or tour the underground river), Bohol (stay at the Flushing Meadows Resort and Playground, then arrange for a dolphin watch!), Davao (the Crown Regency is a lovely place to stay), Cebu (Cebu Midtown, Crown Regency Mactan or Cebu City, or even the Westpoint Inn), or Boracay (there are several Boracay resorts that accept online reservation at terrific rates - try the Boracay Sandcastles, Paradise Garden, or Serendipity).

One last thing: always check the official websites of the hotels (most of them are easily searchable on Google) if you're out to save money. The ones I've recommended allow direct bookings using your credit card (using a very secure system), and can easily arrange your trip itinerary for you. More importantly, because you book directly, you save on travel agent fees and miscellany, allowing you to spend your money on more souvenirs and memories, and giving you more time together.

Hope that helped. ;D

it all depends on what the two of you prefer. if you love beaches, i can recommend boracay! the white sand is superb! but there are lots of people though! a beach that would be more private probably would be somewhere in Bohol, Siquijor, Pagudpod, and other small islands in the Philippines. But the best beach i've ever been into that is really romantic where only you and your husband could be there is in Pugad Parola! (one of the disputed islands in Spratly). But if you prefer a touch of nature mixed with the urban life, i recommend Baguio! At least it would be cold there! You'll enjoy strolling around in the city or go somewhere in Benguet, and enjoy picking strawberry. Another place where you could feel like going back in Spanisgh period and enjoy an old-style hotels, go to Vigan! You'll feel like a maria clara in honeymoon! Plus going to old churches, the two of you can even ask from all patrons there to guide your marriage! Isnt that fun?! enjoy your honeymoon! PS you can also try mountain climbing and enjoy some waterfalls there!

How about going to some nice island?
Like Bantayan Island, Panglao Island, Malapascua Island, Apo Island (Dauin, Negros Oriental), Nasugbu, Batangas & so much more.
Accomodations on those basic, nice & comfy resorts will just range from 1,500-2500 pesos/ overnight. Then you & your partner will enjoy the view of the beach, swimming, snorkeling & so much more. Good luck! (- -,)

Try going outside manila, there are plenty of outside Manila locations that you can go to that are lower priced....try Batangas like laiya http://www.waypoints.ph/detail_gen.html?wpt=laiya or Tagaytay or Baguio or busuanga, Palawan like El Rio y Mar http://www.elrioymar.com, a sister company of club paradise. :)

Have a good and memorable one!

Boracay Island would be the best place, it's probably the #1 tourist spot there.
