I did a Tescos pregnancy test last night and 2 x very faint lines came up (but in the wrong direction that they are meant to go - as shown on the box!) but the second window shown a dark line showing the test worked properly! I am so confused! Now the faint lines have disappeared completely. I am not due until next week but couldnt wait to test and was hoping I had conceived last month and didnt test last month. Does this mean I am definitely not preg? Feeling so down :-(

Hmmm maybe what you saw was evaporation lines. Its a manafactured part of the product and that would explain why they would be going in the wrong direction. I dont think it means you are definately not pregnant more that you have tested too early. If you read these Q and A reguarly you would see just how many women dont even manage to get a positive result (when they are infact pregnant) for atleast a week after their period is due, so bearing that in mind it was perhaops a litlle too optimistic to expect a result a week before you are due on. I tested negative with this pregnancy until I was well over a week late on my period and then i managed to get a faint line. I know how hard it is waiting (we've all been there, pleading for the lines to appear) and perhaps this month that will happen but it may need over another week or so to show up. Got my fingers crossed for you, goodluck x

The test was negative babe im sorry but that doesnt mean your not pregnant as it would not pick it up anyway until the first day of your missed period so you have actually just wasted your money.
If you cant wait there is a test you can do a few days before your period is due but in my opinion I would just wait to see if your period comes, pregnancy tests are expensive.
Good luck you will get there eventually it just takes time xx

You probably just tested too early. Wait a week and try again. If that happens with the second test, visit your doctor. I wouldn't rule out a possible pregnancy yet. However, I wouldn't get excited either. You just have to give it more time. Hope that helps. Best wishes and take care.

No, you could still be pregnant. The lines disappear after a certain amount of time as it is. They usually tell you not to read a test after a certain time frame because they will fade away. The best suggestion would be to wait and take another test in a few days or after your missed period.

It could be a faulty test I would take it back to Tescos and get another. Always worth a try. I have had faulty tests in the past and it can be very down hearting when you are waiting for it to happen.

Best of luck and my fingers are crossed for you.

dont get so down hun im trying to conceive feels like ive been trying for ages i took a test a couple of days ago it came back negative and i have period pains today and no period so its a bit disheartening. Wait till you miss your period then take a second test if you are still unsure then go to your doctor they are accurate!!

Good luck

if u want to do a pregnancy test this early on, get yourself a First Response pregnancy test kit - they are more accurate at detecting the early signs of pregnancy. from what u said ^, i wouldn't like to guess one way of the other as to whether or not u are actually pregnant, but i'll be keeping my fingers crossed for u ! good luck.

the best time to do a pg test is the first wee in the morning, you would normally only get a posotive result how ever faint if you are pg normally only negative results can be false good luck

the lines are on all tests, i did an asda test with the same results .
It doesn't mean that you are not pregnant ,when i spoke to my doc she said that you should wait until you are at least four days late to get a result ....even from the tests which claim to give results four days before your period .Good luck.
