I see it this way, the majority of the jews were not killed by Hitler but by the men he commanded. To me you can't really be responsible for the deaths of so many people if you did not kill them by your own hand. Sure he commanded the assault but his men had choice on whether or not to follow his orders even if it meant death for themselves. My question is How many people did Hitler kill by his own hand? As in how many people's blood did he get on his actual-real hands. Not his men's hands, his actual hands. I'm not a fool, idiot, or moron. Don't look at this religiously or by what your family may have expierenced. I want an honest answered and I know for sure it was less than 1,000. No man after the middle ages as ever killed 1,000 men or women. By their own hands at least. Nuclear bombs and have people do it for you does not count.

i would say 6 - 12 people... I base that on my own estimates and with no facts to back me up. Hitler did bare responsibility because of several reasons. One being that he had instilled in the country a lelve of nationalism that had never been realised. And he had a few friends who would kill people who refused to follow him. Its all very political but at the end of the day hitler said do it and the people he commanded did it either freely or out of fear... doesnt matter even if they didnt agree they were soldiers and as such as trained to obey orders

The people in the concentration camps were not killed by the assault of soldiers on a battlefield. That is considered a war and our society allows, rightly or wrongly, for honor on a field of battle.
It was Hitlers hand that signed the orders for the state mandated extermination of many kinds of people, unarmed people, civilians of the country he headed. I suppose you may believe he can't be responsible, but that doesn't mean he wasn't. He planned it, ordered crematoria to be build at state expense, stole the property of the people he exterminated, went on his own personal delusional rants in public against non Aryans with the sole intent of whipping up public opinion against them. If that's not responsible, and only blood literally dripping from his hands will rate in your world, then perhaps a bit of a second look might allow the rest of us to not think of you as a fool or an idiot.

I have to disagree with you, chorssk. The ultimate responsibility for the Holocaust lies with Hitler. While he DIDN'T kill anyone by his own hand, he is still responsible for the deaths of millions of innocent people.

If he killed one person - of any faith - then he was a murderer. How many do you need for someone to be considered a criminal? He was simply too big a coward to kill them himself, so he had others do it for him. The result is the same - they died, and it wouldn't have happened without him, so he bears the responsibility.

He was a soldier in WW1 so it's likely he killed several enemies.

Same dumb question again? Just what are you trying to justify? Fortunately the rest of the world doesn't suscribe to your "logic".
